About
BA in Communication studies (University of Padua); RMA in Media studies (University of Amsterdam). I'm currently enrolled part-time in a PhD programme in Film studies at the University of Southampton, funded by the Humanities Faculty scholarship. Research interests include memory and trauma studies, European cinema, postmodernism and pop culture, fashion and photography.
My PhD thesis is dedicated to the study of fiction films from 2000 to 2010 that recall German and Italian left-wing terrorism in the 1970s. The study considers filmic texts, historiography and political discourse to offer a comparative analysis of Italian and West German experiences with terrorism in a wider global context. It focuses on four main themes: the nostalgia for the past, the role of terrorists' children, the romanticisation of terror and the return to the comedy genre.
