Thesis Title: Assessment of High Voltage Transmission Tower Foundation Systems

About

As a Research Engineer at the University of Southampton, I am assessing the strength of high voltage transmission tower foundation systems as part of the Transport & Environment Engineering Doctorate program at the university. I work as post graduate member of the Infrastructure Division in the School of Civil Engineering.

I am sponsored by the EPSRC and National Grid, for whom the research is being conducted. The work carried out by myself during the doctorate program is aimed at reconciling the disparity in apparent foundation strength of high voltage pylons and the increasing demands placed on the electrical infrastructure due to population growth and migration of power supply generation.
