About
I am studying management because I want to help biotech start-ups and promote the biotech industry by sharing my business experience combined with academic knowledge.
Background
Having a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in microbiology, I worked for about 8 years for a biopharmaceutical company, from when it was a university spin-off to the time it floated on Korean stock market and began a couple of clinical trials in the US, Korea and China.
Business Development
I structured, negotiated and concluded a number of contracts (out-licensing, in-licensing, co-development and collaboration) with:
- Korean large pharmaceutical companies,
- Korean universities and government research institutes,
- Japanese pharmaceutical and biotech companies
- a Chinese biotech company,
- a French research institute,
- a UK chemical company,
- US universities, and
- a multinational medical device company.
In addition, I organized, reviewed and rewrote the contracts, created marketing materials and evaluated biopharmaceutical technologies.
Investor Relations / Public Relations
Also being in charge of IR/PR, I:
- wrote business plans,
- met with investors,
- raised pre-IPO funding,
- assisted Chief Financial Officer to list the company on the Korean stock market,
- wrote press-releases,
- and managed the website for the company.
