Thesis Title: Ground-truthing the Boron Isotope Proxy

Dr. Gavin Foster
Prof. Paul Wilson
Prof. Jonathan Erez

About

My research interests include:
-The advancement and application of palaeoclimate proxies, in particular the boron-based pH/carbonate ion proxies
-Study of past and present episodes of global change, with a view to understanding past macroevolutionary changes and modern anthropogenic global change
-The mechanisms behind (and reasons for) calcification in calcareous plankton and their role in the ocean carbonate system
-Modelling of the concentration and isotopic composition of boron in the oceans through Phanerozoic time
-The biology and evolutionary history of the Foraminifera
